5FACTS ABOUT DIRECT ENTRY REGISTRATION for 2017/2018 SESSION

As interested candidates prepare to register for the forthcoming Direct Entry (DE) 2017/2018 session, there are speculations that the registration have started which is not true, many also claimed that the registration will start today been 8^th May 8, 2017 and as at the moment of filing this report today, no registration yet.  As a professional in Direct Entry registration, I forecast that

the registration may take two weeks plus before the commencement of the registration because JAMB are seriously engaged with UTME Post registration process as we all know that the Examination body will conduct exams on 13^th of May 8, 2017 as Scheduled and even as I speak, the Examination centres and date are not yet made available for UTME candidates and as such, their priority would be tackling those issues before releasing DE registration. All been said, with the help of the creator, coeanews.blogspot.com will ensure that you get the whole information concerning D.E as it folds.  Before the registration commences, it is important to know the following important facts:

1.      Eligibility:  it is important for all candidates to note that not all A-level students can apply for DE until you verify if you were offered admission by JAMB during your NCE/ND or its equivalent. Most students were unable to apply for DE last year as a result of this, to verify this, log on to www.jamb.org.ng, create an account and click on check admission status, select the admission year and click on check button. If you were offered admission, your details will display but if we’re not, the message that reads “sorry no admission given yet” will display. Some candidates do not have JAMB registration Number, if you belong to that category, you will make the payment of N10,000 using remita to enable you summit your details to JAMB and your JAMB registration Number will be sent via email after 2 weeks of registration.

2.      Grading: In DE, P = 1 Point, D = 2 Points, C = 3 Points, B = 4 Points, A = 5 Points. For example, if you are a graduate of College of Education and you studied Mathematics/Physics, if your Maths is C, Physics C and Education C, then you have 9 Points. Advice: If your Education grade is poor, it is better you replace it with General studies grade if you have better grade. Note: The minimum point required to get 200 level direct is 9 points.

3.      Get your Money ready: ensure your registration money is ready before the commencement of the registration. By doing this, it will prevent the danger of been taken by surprise.

4.       Candidates with Awaiting Result can apply: I receive several calls asking if candidates with awaiting result can apply and the answer is capital yes.

5.      Submission of Credentials to nearby JAMB office: After you might have secured a successful registration, candidates are to submit all their credentials to nearby JAMB office, very important!
